WELCOME TO THE WORLD AS SEEN THROUGH MY EYES
Hello,
My name is Andrew De Ponte (a.k.a. Drew). I am a Software Engineer who has been into computers and software design & development since as long as I can remember. When I was wee I bugged my father to explain to me how computer games were created. He didn’t know the answer, but he knew how to point me in the right direction and I thank him for it. My parents enrolled me in a summer class at a junior college for Basic programming. I soon found that Basic wasn’t the language used to write real software. So I asked the professor how such software was created, he responded “they used C”. So, from that point on I have been teaching myself as much as possible about technology in general. Though my primary focus has always been software design & development.
This site is the central hub to all that exists in my life. It is designed to provide a central point to connect to all of my works and content of my life. For instance, it houses my personal blog, open source projects I have founded and developed, photos I have taken, screencasts I have made, movies I have made, etc. Beyond housing such works it also acts as a hub for connecting people to other open source and proprietary projects that I have worked on in the past, as well as open source and proprietary projects I am currently working on.
